The thing about starting a daily habit is to actually do it every day, even when you might not want to, are tired or just too busy. Today is the first day where I have sat down to write without a little bit of an idea of what to say. I guess that is ok and something I am going to have to learn to work through. I won't get the free pass of writing about it as the introduction next time.
Today's big decision, which I have still not made yet, is which Covid-19 vaccine to get. Here in Dubai, you can choose between Astra-Zenica, Phizer and Sinovac (aka the Chinese Vaccine). You have to book and there is a variable waiting time depending on the location and vaccine. Honestly, it would be easier if they just lined me up and stuck the needle in. So far everyone has a different opinion on which one is the "best" and some people are changing their mind on a daily basis. Tomorrow I will book one, I won't overstress over which one to get. There are wildly varying waiting times and it is probably the sort of thing to get done rather than procrastinate on.
In the news as far as my circle of interest today is concerned, SpaceX will be attempting to not blow up another rocket today. I have the live stream open to watch. I missed watching the last two not-so-soft landings of Starship live so perhaps I can make the difference today. It is a bit like watching paint dry waiting though. A camera, focussed on a flying grain silo, doing nothing for hours and hours. It really is amazing you can watch the development of this type of technology during its prototyping.
What is even more surprising, and sort of crazy, are the people who are making a full-time living over making videos about the space industry from their bedrooms, with no qualifications (as far as I can tell). They sound knowledgable, are entertaining but it really is a great example of the different world we live in. Not so long ago in the grand scheme of things, you would have had no choice but to watch this on the news. My go-to amateur space information is from What About It. It's easily confused for a Dr Strange cosplay channel but it is actually about space rockets. I found an even more crazy guy but I can't bring myself to link that. Yes I can, but be warned, it's a bit strange - The Angry Astronaut.
I'm going to settle in now for my night of space rocket virtual spotting. Sucks we lost the cricket against the Aussies but it's still 2-1 in the series.
Have a great day or evening!
SpaceX SN10 landed! Then exploded! It was exciting. I did have to watch it this morning, as it got delayed too much to stay up to watch.
